FIFTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME —C— I'm still sending you greetings from the Philippines! I hope everybody is doing well as I am really enjoying my stay here with my family. But to be perfectly honest, you are always included in my daily prayers and I hope that you do the same for me. The story of the Good Samaritan is one of the most popular stories in the bible. In fact, it has become the model of all those who know enough to pity their neighbor and offer help. The Good Samaritan is the exact opposite of the Priest and Levite who flee the scene as if they didn't care at all. This story has been told many times that one may ask: "Can we still find something new from the story?" The answer may be no or may be yes. But what is more important is to relive this message, understand fully and apply it in our own personal life experience. The person who fell victim to robbers was in need of help and two people came by and they didn't bother to lend a hand. It was unfortunate that the first two persons who ignored the victim were Jews just like him. The irony of ironies is that the one who lent a hand was a Samaritan. In Jewish tradition Jews and Samaritans have nothing in common and were not allowed to mingle with each other. But during this unfortunate moment the Samaritan set aside their differences and was moved to pity and extended his hands to help. Truly, an act of charity goes beyond boundaries.
15 DOMINGO DE TIEMPO ORDINARIO —C— ¡Todavía te mando saludos desde Filipinas! Espero que todos estén bien, ya que realmente estoy disfrutando mi estadía aquí con mi familia. Pero para ser perfectamente honesto, siempre estás incluido en mis oraciones diarias y espero que hagas lo mismo por mí. La historia del Buen Samaritano es una de las historias más populares de la Biblia. De hecho, se ha convertido en el modelo de todos aquellos que saben lo suficiente como para compadecerse de su prójimo y ofrecerle ayuda. El buen samaritano es exactamente lo contrario del sacerdote y el levita que huyen de la escena como si no les importara en absoluto. Esta historia se ha contado tantas veces que uno puede preguntarse: "¿Todavía podemos encontrar algo nuevo de la historia?" La respuesta puede ser no o puede ser sí. Pero lo que es más importante es revivir este mensaje, entender completamente y aplicarlo en nuestra propia experiencia de vida personal. La persona que fue víctima de los ladrones necesitaba ayuda y vinieron dos personas y no se molestaron en echar una mano. Fue desafortunado que las dos primeras personas que ignoraron a la víctima fueran judíos como él. La ironía de las ironías es que el que echó una mano fue un samaritano. En la tradición judía, los judíos y los samaritanos no tienen nada en común y no se les permitía mezclarse entre sí. pero durante En este desafortunado momento el samaritano dejó de lado sus diferencias y se compadeció y extendió sus manos para ayudar. Verdaderamente, un acto de caridad va más allá de las fronteras.
