SECOND SUNDAY OF LENT —C—
Everything in this world is transitory and the only permanent thing is change itself. Therefore, we must try to be comfortable with change as it is one thing that is inevitable. But while some people are afraid of change, there are those who believe that change is a sign of growth. On the second Sunday of lent we are blessed with the scene where Jesus transfgured in the mountain which was witnessed by Peter, John and James. These men witnessed the forthcoming glorious event in the life of Jesus. But this will happen only after Jesus suffers and dies. Because of this, fear consumed the disciples prompting Peter to ask Jesus if they can just stay in the mountain. He even promised to build three tents for Jesus, for Moses and for Elijah. Obviously they were terrifed and were completely dumbfounded. And a voice from the cloud said: ‘This is my chosen Son; listen to him.’ The season of lent is an invitation into a life of holiness through prayers and repentance. Change will be easier and possible only if we will listen to Jesus.
We are blessed with a vibrant Hispanic community all because of the active leadership of MR. MARTIN CASTAÑEDA who is the overall coordinator. 2 DOMINGO DE CUARESMA —C—
Todo en este mundo es transitorio y lo único permanente es el cambio mismo. Por lo tanto, debemos tratar de sentirnos cómodos con el cambio, ya que es algo inevitable. Pero mientras otras personas tienen miedo al cambio, hay quienes creen que el cambio es una señal de crecimiento. En el segundo domingo de cuaresma somos bendecidos con la escena donde Jesús se transfguró en la montaña que fue presenciada por Pedro, Juan y Santiago. Estos hombres fueron testigos del próximo evento glorioso en la vida de Jesús. Pero esto sucederá solo después de que Jesús sufra y muera. Debido a este miedo que consumió a los discípulos, lo que llevó a Pedro a preguntarle a Jesús si podían quedarse en la montaña. Incluso prometió construir tres tiendas para Jesús, para Moisés y para Elías. Obviamente estaban aterrorizados y completamente estupefactos. Y una voz desde la nube dijo: 'Este es mi Hijo escogido; Escúchalo a él.' El tiempo de Cuaresma es una invitación a una vida de santidad a través de la oración y el arrepentimiento. El cambio será más fácil y posible solo si escuchamos a Jesús.
