FOURTH SUNDAY OF ADVENT —A— Exactly one week before Christmas and we are still refecting on the mystery of the Incarnation of our Lord. Incarnation was the process in which the Son of God has inserted himself in human history. But this did not happen in an instant but it has to undergo a normal human process. Our gospel this Sunday tells us how and why Jesus had to be born from the womb of our Blessed Mother. Mary’s purity has never been tarnished because she conceived and gave birth to a child. Everything was through the working of the Holy Spirit. The baby born in the manger was sent to save men from their sins. The event that took place more than two thousand years ago was prophesied even more years earlier by the Prophet Isaiah. This important mysterious historical event happened because God wanted His presence felt by us hence Jesus is named the Emmanuel which means God is with us. Therefore every Christmas is a reminder that life no matter how hard is still worth living because God’s presence is with us.
4 DOMINGO DE ADVIENTO —A— Exactamente una semana antes de Navidad y todavía estamos refexionando sobre el misterio de la Encarnación de nuestro Señor. La encarnación fue el proceso en el que el Hijo de Dios se ha insertado en la historia humana. Pero esto no sucedió en un instante sino que tiene que pasar por un proceso humano normal. Nuestro evangelio de este domingo nos dice cómo y por qué Jesús tuvo que nacer del vientre de nuestra Santísima Madre. La pureza de María nunca se ha empañado porque ella concibió y dio a luz a un niño. Todo fue por obra del Espíritu Santo. El bebé nacido en el pesebre fue enviado para salvar a los hombres de sus pecados. El evento que tuvo lugar hace más de dos mil años fue profetizado aún más años antes por el profeta Isaías. Este importante evento histórico misterioso sucedió porque Dios quería que nosotros sintiéramos Su presencia, por lo tanto, a Jesús se le llama Emmanuel, lo que signifca que Dios está con nosotros. Por lo tanto, cada Navidad es un recordatorio de que la vida, sin importar lo difícil que sea, vale la pena vivirla porque la presencia de Dios está con nosotros.
