SEVENTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME —C— Prayer has been an integral part in the life of Jesus especially when he was doing his ministry. We see Jesus prayed to seek for the will of his Father and he would look for a deserted place to do it. The disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray. The request arose from their awareness that Jesus seemed very close to his God. His prayers and life were directed not by any god but his God who is his Father. Then taught them to turn to God just as he did and he gave them what we call now the "Pater Noster" or the "Our Father", One sad reality is that many people were busy trying to advance their names and spending more time building their own kingdom. Hence, the world turned to be very chaotic. The whole prayer taught us to allow God to be God to us and not ourselves feeling gods of our lives and worse gods to others. By praying the Lord's Prayer we must realize that God is a father who would provide for his children everything they need. We must have a strong faith to accept that anyone who asks receives, anyone who seeks fnds, and anyone who knocks will have the door opened to them.
17 DOMINGO DE TIEMPO ORDINARIO —C— La oración ha sido una parte integral en la vida de Jesús, especialmente cuando estaba haciendo su ministerio. Vemos a Jesús orando para buscar la voluntad de su Padre y buscaba un lugar desierto para hacerlo. Los discípulos le pidieron a Jesús que les enseñara a orar. La petición surgió de la conciencia de que Jesús parecía muy cercano a su Dios. Sus oraciones y su vida no estaban dirigidas por ningún dios sino por su Dios, que es su Padre. Luego les enseñó a volverse a Dios tal como lo hizo él y les dio lo que ahora llamamos el "Pater Noster" o el "Padre Nuestro". Una triste realidad es que muchas personas estaban ocupadas tratando de hacer avanzar sus nombres y dedicando más tiempo a construir su propio reino. Por lo tanto, el mundo se volvió muy caótico. Toda la oración nos enseñó a dejar que Dios sea Dios para nosotros y no sentirnos nosotros mismos dioses de nuestra vida y peor dioses para los demás. Al rezar el Padrenuestro debemos darnos cuenta de que Dios es un padre que proveerá a sus hijos de todo lo que necesitan. Debemos tener una fe fuerte para aceptar que el que pide recibe, el que busca encuentra, y el que llama se le abre la puerta.
